Cover Supervisor

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only (including Training Days) 39 weeks per year

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and friendly person to join our staff team in the Cover Supervisor position; we are looking for a suitably experienced individual, to start as soon as possible.
A Cover Supervisor manages classes of pupils, when the teacher is absent through illness, or needs to attend a meeting or a training session. A cover supervisor will work during school hours and, in addition to supervising the class, will oversee the completion of the work that has been set. The position would suit a highly motivated and flexible person.
The work can be extremely rewarding, but it can also be demanding; there is a high level of responsibility in managing a class. On days when there is no staff absence, the successful candidate will be expected to support in the classroom.
Previous experience of working in a school would be desirable, but this is not essential. The post would be ideal for someone considering becoming a teacher in the future. Training and support will be given. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good organisation and prioritising skills
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
